PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This innovative course is divided into 8 terms, each term lasting 9 weeks and covers everything you need to provide you with a direct route to hairdressing. The course is made up of an interesting and stimulating blend of theoretical and practical units, which evolve from term to term. Throughout the course, however, students receive constant personal guidance and monitoring from the trainer.
They also receive regular assignments to assess their progress. At the completion of each unit students are given one-to-one approaches to ensure they are achieving the learning goals required by industry standard.
TEACHING METHODS
Classes are taught in a combination of lecture, tutorial and practical sessions.
DURATION
Diploma: 18 Months , full-time (8 terms) 102 weeks
Certificate IV: 12 months, full-time (5 terms)
Please note: Part-time study is not available to international students.
ASSESSMENT
Assessment is continuous throughout the course and is based on student participation and demonstration and application of both practical and theoretical elements. Assessment may include examinations, essay / reports, presentations, group projects, design projects, research projects and practical assignments.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years and have an appropriate English proficiency level.
STUDY PAHWAYS
Hales Institute accepts Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) statement of attainment by Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s). Credit exemptions will be given for units where appropriate certification is produced.
